Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful that his squad can replicate this past weekend’s performance against Real Sociedad. On Wednesday night, the Spanish club will welcome Paris Saint-Germain to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
The capital club heads into the matchup with a 1-0 lead, but Ancelotti spoke at his news conference where he hopes that his squad’s performance in their 4-1 over Real Sociedad is a precursor to what will happen against the French giants.
“The physical expenditure was important, but we were good. By playing like this we are more likely to be good on Wednesday,” Ancelotti said. “It was an important match because we could take the lead in La Liga.”
“We took advantage of it and the team understood very well the importance of this match. This match will give us a lot of hope for Wednesday. It’s the intensity we need to have and the type of match that the public likes and in which the public helps you to give the best. We can do it again.”
