The Argentina national team welcomed Venezuela to Buenos Aires for their final home fixture of the FIFA World Cup qualifying. As a result, La Albiceleste wanted to pick up the win in front of the home crowd.
Argentina led 1-0, and Paris Saint-Germain forward Angel Di Maria provided the squad with some breathing room, scoring a spectacular goal. The 34-year-old took advantage of Venezuela’s goalkeeper, who was aggressive, and the defense couldn’t get back to cover the empty net.
Di Maria was able to chip it over the goalie and defenders and found the back of the net for Argentina’s second goal.
