Angel Di Maria’s time with Paris Saint-Germain appears to be coming to an end. The 34-year-old’s contract will expire in June, and there seems no sign of the capital club picking up the option in his deal.
As a result, the Argentine forward could be living his final months wearing a PSG kit. However, with the FIFA World Cup right around the corner later this year, Di Maria doesn’t plan to leave Europe, at least, that’s what his father is stating.
In an interview with Radio La Red, Miguel Di Maria gave some hints about the future of his son’s playing career. He stated that he would like to see his son play another season or two in Europe then return to Argentina.
“I would like him to play one or two more years in Europe, then come back (to Argentina). He is only 34 years old; he still has a career. He takes great care of himself. He has to keep playing,” Di Maria said.
The elder Di Maria states that the PSG forward plans to return to Argentina and play for Club Atlético Rosario Central, which is where he began his career before leaving for SL Benfica in 2007.
“I don’t know; I’ve never heard that, sweeps his father. I don’t know if it’s to come to Boca,” Di Maria said.
“His idea is to come to Central and finish his career there. He has it already said. I hope he can achieve it. That’s what he’s missing. He left here very young and didn’t have time to enjoy it.”
