Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 home fixture against Bordeaux sure had a tense atmosphere. Days removed from the club’s elimination in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 against Real Madrid, plenty of PSG fans in attendance during the fixture lashed out boos and whistles towards the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar.
Ronaldinho did not face such a situation during his memorable run at PSG, but he does see where those club supporters were coming from, which he spoke further about to ESPN Deportes’ “Ahora o Nunca” show.
“It’s football,” Ronaldinho said. “In football when things don’t go well, the biggest names always come under a little more pressure. That’s how football is. It will never change.”
Messi did not end his goal-scoring drought in the match, although Neymar did bag a key score, but it did not stop the PSG faithful from unleashing some of their frustrations over the club’s early Champions League exit towards him.
PSG will return to Ligue 1 play in the home fixture against Lorient on April 3.
