Thilo Kehrer hasn’t lived up to the transfer fee Paris Saint-Germain paid for when they acquired him in 2018 from FC Schalke 04. At no point during his tenure has the Germany international been an undisputed starter in the squad, whether at right-back or central defense.

With Achraf Hakimi now as the undisputed right back and Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe ahead of Kehrer at the center-back position, it’s clear the 25-year-old will not be a starter on the PSG backline.

As a result, Sky Sport reports that Kehrer has no intention of extending his contract at PSG beyond 2023. Instead, he wants to leave the Ligue 1 giants on a free transfer next year.

The report also states that PSG doesn’t want to lose him on a free transfer, so capital club likely pushes for a sale this summer. It will be interesting to see if Kehrer decides to leave in a couple of months or depart next year when his deal is up.
