Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has garnered plenty of criticism following his side’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 elimination to Real Madrid. Neymar recorded a pair of assists in the tie, but the Parc des Princes crowd at PSG’s Ligue 1 home fixture against Bordeaux still opted to boo him whenever he touched the ball.

As noted by RMC Sport, Neymar was “affected” by the boos that he received over the course of the fixture, and overall, he “does not understand these criticisms.”

The report added that Neymar “does not understand how he can be held responsible” for the exit.

Overall, Neymar has had a roller-coaster campaign this season. He missed time in the first half of the campaign due to an ankle injury suffered in November. He has been fit as of late, although the forward wound up finishing Champions League play with zero goals and two assists recorded.

Next up for Neymar and company will be a Ligue 1 away fixture against AS Monaco.
