Paris Saint-Germain is still reeling over the defeat to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League round of 16. For PSG sporting director Leonardo, he wants the squad to now look ahead to the remainder of the season.
According to RMC Sport’s Loic Tanzi, Leonardo addressed the team on Friday before its scheduled training session on the day. Leonardo urged the team to go on and win Ligue 1.
PSG currently sits comfortably at the top of the league standings, as it holds a 13-point lead over second place side OGC Nice. Barring a late-season collapse, PSG will win Ligue 1 for the 10th time in club history.
PSG will now only be competing in league fixtures for the remainder of the campaign, as its Champions League elimination to Real Madrid coupled with its early exit in the Coupe de France tournament ended its aspirations of a treble-winning campaign.
For now, a league encounter against Bordeaux awaits PSG on its schedule.
