Paris Saint-Germain will make a change at the managerial position this coming summer as manager Mauricio Pochettino is likely to be on the way out. The Argentine solidified his fate after the elimination in the UEFA Champions League.
As speculation grows as to who will replace the soon-to-be outgoing Pochettino LÉquipe (via AS) reports that Zinedine Zidane is at the top of their list. However, should the French tactician continue to hold out for the France national team job, the capital club will need to go in a different direction.
The French media outlet shared names that Les Parisiens could be looking at this summer. One of the possible targets is current Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone.
Simeone has led the Spanish club to a La Liga crown last season, won the UEFA Europa League, been to two UEFA Champions League finals, and is under contract until 2024 with Los Colchoneros.
Here’s the list of managers L’Equipe cites as the other possible candidates that PSG can pursue if the Zidane file cannot manifest itself:
- Massimiliano Allegri (Juventus)
- Antonio Conte (Tottenham Hotspur)
- Erik ten Hag (Ajax)
- Christophe Galtier (Nice)
- Mikel Arteta (Arsenal)
- Simone Inzaghi (Inter Milan)
- Lucien Favre (currently without a team)
- Thiago Motta (Spezia)
