As it stands, Angel Di Maria is playing in the final months of his current contract deal with Paris Saint-Germain. The Argentine playmaker signed off on a one-year extension deal with PSG last year.

In the one-year agreement between Di Maria and PSG, the two sides added a one-year mutual option. But for PSG, the Ligue 1 powerhouse is not planning to trigger this mutual option extension, according to a report from RMC Sport.

Barring any notable changes in the coming months, Di Maria’s tenure with PSG will soon come to an end, as he will become a free agent in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Di Maria has already reportedly garnered transfer interest from Portuguese powerhouse Benfica, although it remains to be seen whether the side plans to go all out to officially sign the Argentine should he become a free agent in the coming months.

Di Maria is currently in his seventh season with PSG, and he has so far appeared in 289 matches in all competitions with the Ligue 1 side.
