Paris Saint-Germain forward Angel Di Maria seems destined to depart the capital club, but nothing yet is confirmed. Nonetheless, reports have surfaced over the past couple of weeks that PSG is looking at possible replacements for the 34-year-old.
One target linked as a possible replacement is FC Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembélé, whose contract expires in June, so it wouldn’t cost Les Parisiens a fee they need to pay. However, now there’s another name that could replace Di Maria.
According to the Daily Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ left-winger Pedro Neto is one player that PSG is keeping tabs on to replace the Argentine forward. The 22-year-old is returning to the squad following a severe injury that saw him out of action due to fracturing his kneecap last April.
The French giants will be keeping a close eye to see if Neto is over his injury or whether there are lingering issues that see him lose his past form. The Portugal international has made 84 appearances for Wolves scoring ten goals and registering 11 assists.
Neto is under contract until 2027, so the Premier League club is in no rush to sell if an offer doesn’t meet their asking price. When it comes to a possible sum PSG might have to pay, Transfermarkt has the winger’s value at €35-million.
