This season could mark the end for Ángel Di María, who’s had a fantastic career with Paris Saint-Germain. However, at 34-years-old, it seems as though the capital club is ready to turn the page and fill the void left behind when the Argentine departs.
According to Foot Mercato, the French giants could be eyeing Riyad Mahrez with the lure of bringing the 31-year-old back home. The Manchester City forward grew up in the suburbs of Paris, so they want a hometown player to fill Di María’s void.
However, the report does add that the Ligue 1 side isn’t alone in their pursuit of Mahrez, whose contract expires in 2023. Chelsea is the other club hoping to keep the Algeria international in the Premier League but bringing him to London.
The French media outlet adds that Manchester City could be willing to let Mahrez leave of an offer between €30-million and €40-million comes their way. Nonetheless, with one more year left on his deal, it will be interesting to see if PSG puts forth an offer to meet those demands.
