Paris Saint-Germain is now in the United States’ two largest markets, following their team store opening in New York City. In a press release, the capital club announced that the store located in the heart of Manhattan at 587 5th Ave will be the club’s largest store outside of France.
Furthermore, the New York City store will join the French giants’ international distribution network, with three stores in Japan (two in Tokyo and one in Nagoya), one in Seoul, South Korea, and two in Doha, Qatar.
The development of the Paris Saint-Germain brand over the last 10 years is truly unique. Becoming the first sports team to open an official store in New York is a key step in establishing the Club as one of the biggest sports brands in the world,” Fabien Allègre, Brand Director at Paris Saint-Germain, said. “We are delighted to collaborate with Fanatics to strengthen our presence in North America and to have a retail expert like Lids to operate the store.”
“The club is now the fourth-largest sports club in the world on social media, and our fanbase, worldwide and especially in the United States, is growing exponentially. More than 160 million fans follow our team every day. New York is the culmination of this growth. We can’t wait for Paris Saint-Germain supporters around the world to experience the event of this new store and be part of the unique Paris Saint-Germain project.”
Lids and PSG plan to celebrate this historic moment by holding the store’s grand opening on Friday, March 18.
