Paris Saint-Germain welcomed FC Girondins de Bordeaux to the Parc des Princes in the first match since the capital club’s elimination from the UEFA Champions League. However, the supporters weren’t so welcoming to the capital club squad.

While announcing the starting eleven to the stadium, every player outside of Kylian Mbappé was booed upon their presentation on the Videotron, including Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr.

Messi and Neymar being the brunt of the boos by the supporters resulted in former teammates coming to their defense. The first was AS Monaco midfielder and the former teammate of Messi and Neymar at FC Barcelona Cesc Fabregas.

Fabregas went on Twitter, stating how quickly football fans’ memories go when deciding to boo the two players. “Football has no memory… It’s a shame. Always with you my brothers,” Fabregas tweeted

Luis Suarez, who was teammates with Messi and Neymar at Barcelona, went on Instagram to put up a photo showing his support to the two players and stated that football too has no memory.

“As always, football without memory. Always with you! I love you very much!” wrote Luis Suarez on Instagram
