Fabrizio Romano Provides Update on Extension Talks Between PSG, Xavi Simons

One of the top youth products in Paris Saint-Germain’s system is Xavi Simons, and the teenager will see his contract expire in June. The 18-year-old has received a decent amount of playing time this season.

The capital club hopes that this increase in playing time and being around the first team regularly is enough for Simons and his representatives to see that they think highly of the Netherlands international, and it might be working.

According to transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano, the French giants are prepared to improve their contract offer to Simons. Romano adds that he’s now getting closer to signing a new long-term deal with PSG as talks progress.

Simons has made seven appearances for PSG this season, playing a total of 292 minutes. The Ligue 1 side wants to bring the teenager along slowly, and he’s shown his quality playing alongside some of the best players in football, so it seems both sides want to continue this venture.
