Much has been talked about with Paris Saint-Germain’s recent up-and-down form in all competitions, but for veteran midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, he well recognizes that it takes “time” for players within a team to form quality chemistry with each other.
Wijnaldum took some time to speak to PSG Le Mag about his outlook on just where the French powerhouse stands at this point in the campaign.
“It takes time to form a good team, you have to get to know each other,” Wijnaldum said. “Given the means of the club, everyone expects us to win everything, but that’s not how it works. I can speak from experience because I came to a team that was building when I signed for Liverpool. We are in a process of building a team.”
PSG has had roller-coaster results as of late in all competitions. For one, the Ligue 1 side clinched a crucial 1-0 win in the opening leg of its UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash with Real Madrid but then followed it up with a two-goal loss to Nantes in league play.
PSG will have a pair of league fixtures upcoming against AS Saint-Etienne and OGC Nice before it once again meets Real Madrid in the pivotal second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.
