Kylian Mbappé scored a late game-winning goal against Stade Rennais for a 1-0 result. The capital club took all three points and heads into their first-leg matchup against Real Madrid at the Parc des Princes with some positive vibes.

Following the match, PSG captain Marquinhos spoke with Prime Sport France, where the 27-year-old discussed the squad’s performances over the 90 minutes.

“It was hard to open the scoring tonight. We wanted to put in the commitment from the start to try to unlock this match, but the Rennes team defended well gave us very little space even though we had the ball. We had chances, but we couldn’t score. This goal at the end of the match delivers us,” Marquinhos said.

Marquinhos also provided his thoughts regarding the game-winning goal that Mbappé scored in stoppage time.

“Mbappe? He is a player who makes the difference. In this kind of match, when he manages to score, it helps us. It’s very important to have players who have the peace of mind to score. But I think it’s teamwork too,” Marquinhos added.
