Nuno Mendes didn’t show that he was 19-years-old. The teenage defender won nine of his 12 total duels and went 43 for 50 on his passes for a completion percentage of 86 with 77 touches.
The Portuguese international linked with Kylian Mbappé for the Paris Saint-Germain attack, and the duo took advantage of Real Madrid right-back Daniel Carvajal on various occasions.
Following the match, Mendes spoke with PSG TV about the 1-0 victory over the Spanish giants, where he was satisfied with how the squad played for 90 minutes.
“It’s a very strong feeling, it’s a great victory for the whole team and we are very happy for that. It was a very positive game for us. We managed to take the advantage over Madrid in this first act. We gave everything for 90 minutes, we created a lot of chances and we managed to score a goal and we are very happy for that,” Mendes said.
“Personally, I felt good on the pitch. I had a lot of desire. I think the team started the game well. And it gave me strength to do well with my teammates and it was important for us that I was in my best shape for this game.”
