Paris Saint-Germain has the luxury of rolling out an attack that features Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Kylian Mbappé. Some will believe that tactics are easy when these three players lead the offense, but manager Mauricio Pochettino believes that’s far from the truth.
During an appearance on El Larguero, Pochettino was asked about the tactics of putting together a game plan; the Argentine tactician stated that it’s not as easy as some might think when having these three players.
“The truth is that nothing is easy. It’s not easy for any coach. Many times we smile. Today, any player on any team, at any level, in any category… they don’t like to leave the field,” Pochettino.
“They get angry with the coaches, with the teammates… When you see in each training session the humility they show, the commitment to the team (…) We are talking about players who have been at the best level for many years. It makes you happy.”
However, Pochettino also states that it’s not as complicated either once a manager knows what type of players and it’s a day-to-day process to make sure that the trio is happy.
“It’s not easy, but it’s not as complicated as people think on the outside without having the knowledge to work with them. In the end, there is no manual to say how to manage these three,” Pochettino said.
“It’s something new, something that PSG created. We must have the capacity, on a day-to-day basis, to take care of these football artists. If we could make this work in the best way, that would be amazing.”
