When Carlo Ancelotti was in the French capital at the helm of Paris Saint-Germain, the Italian tactician had a young Marco Verratti. The Real Madrid manager spoke at his press conference ahead of the first leg against the capital club.
Ancelotti noted the improvements Verratti has made since he coached the player a few years back. However, he states that they won’t focus solely on him despite the PSG midfield relying heavily on the 29-year-old.
“Marco Verratti is a great player who has improved, he has more experience, and he is a very important player for the team,” Ancelotti said.
“But if we have to think about blocking Verratti, Mbappé, Messi, Di Marià, Icardi, we’re going to lose our heads, right? It’s better to think about what we’re going to do on the pitch.”
