RMC Sport produced a documentary on Brazilian football legend Ronaldo entitled “R9: The film.” During a part in the movie, the former striker discussed which player in the game today possesses similar traits to his when he played.
Ronaldo modernized the attacking position in his time, and today’s football seems to be entering a new era with the advent of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé, which is why he sees a lot of himself in the France international.
Because the 23-year-old knows how to do absolutely everything on the pitch. So powerful, so creative, like Ronaldo, it comes as no surprise that he sees his qualities on display when the France international is on the pitch.
“Mbappé has great qualities. His technique, his speed, his sense of purpose. If we were to be compared… Yes, I think his game looks a bit like mine,” Ronaldo said on the “R9: Film.”
PSG hopes that Mbappé can remain in the French capital and avoid heading to Real Madrid like Ronaldo did when he departed Inter Milan for Real Madrid in 2002, or Mbappé plans to follow in the footsteps of many superstars and join Los Blancos.
