As of late, Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi has been in promising form in all competitions.

For one, the Argentine forward has continued to emerge as a go-to playmaker for PSG. He is just coming off of a quality performance in PSG’s Ligue 1 away fixture against Nantes where he recorded an assist and created a trio of goal-scoring chances for teammates.

Overall, as noted by WhoScored, Messi has notched four assists in league play so far in the calendar year, which leads Europe’s top five leagues.

Messi has also recorded assists against Reims, Lille OSC and Rennes in league play in the calendar year.

In the big picture, Messi has recorded eight assists in league play so far in the campaign. Barring a notable drop in performance in the remainder of the season, he should tally for 10-plus assists in his debut campaign in Ligue 1.

Next up for Messi and PSG will be a league encounter with AS Saint-Etienne.
