Mbappe Reveals the Major Factor Behind the Game-Winning Goal Against Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe rose to the occasion in his side’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg fixture against Real Madrid. In the late stages of the match, Mbappe sped on by inside Real Madrid’s defensive third for the game-winning goal.

As Mbappe touched on after the match (via Sky Sport Italia), he recognized that two players were defending against Neymar early in the sequence, and from there, the rest is history.

“I had a lot of confidence, I saw two players on Neymar and I moved to the left,” Mbappe said. “I did this one against two, I found space between the two defenders who were marking me and between Courtois’ legs.”

The French international finished the fixture with one goal, four total shots on target and one goal-scoring chance created against the La Liga side. More so, the PSG forward also recorded four successful dribbles completed.

In the big picture, Mbappe has been one of the top performers in the Champions League competition so far this season, as he has recorded five goals and four assists in seven such games played.
