Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe sees that Lionel Messi’s versatility will bring him success over the second half of the season.
In speaking to Prime Video Sport France following PSG’s 5-1 win over Lille OSC in Ligue 1 play, Mbappe noted that Messi’s ability to play upfront as a center forward can add an extra dimension to the team’s attack.
“Messi is a player who needs to feel the game,” Mbappe said. “He can pick up and feel the game, I think it’s a good thing for him, he can be more involved too.
“He is free and I think it is a good position.”
Messi earned a start for PSG against Lille OSC as a center forward. He recorded a pair of goal contributions and created six goal-scoring chances in the match.
PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino certainly will have plenty of options as to just which attackers will feature in the side’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg clash with Real Madrid, especially as the likes of Neymar (ankle) and Angel Di Maria (calf) could be available in time for the match despite having suffered recent injuries.
