It’s been a rough week for Paris Saint-Germain and manager Mauricio Pochettino. After crashing out in the Coupe de France following a loss in penalty kicks to OGC Nice, there’s been plenty of criticism going around.
During a segment on RMC Sports “Rothen s’enflamme“ former PSG midfielder Jérôme Rothen explained why, in his opinion, the capital club has every interest in choosing Zinédine Zidane to replace Pochettino.
Rothen believes that Zidane can come in and restore values that appear lost with the capital club.
“I am from the older generation, I am one of those who respect the passion and values of the clubs. It is lost today and it is lost at PSG,” Rothen said.
“It shows in the attitude of the leaders, the “coach and players. These values that have made the history of the club are set back. I think that Zidane can be the savior.”
Furthermore, Rothen states that the French giants need to pull all the stops and make Zidane an offer the former Real Madrid manager can’t refuse. According to Foot Mercato, the Ligue 1 side wants to offer him a lucrative contract with full power at the club.
“We have to give him a golden bridge, a contract that is hard to refuse. If he doesn’t mind coming to train PSG, he has to come,” Rothen said.
“Come! Come and save PSG! Come and bring your rigor and your professionalism to the locker room to remind some that they are in the wrong. He can do it if he arrives with full powers.”
The only thing that might cause Zidane not to come will be if he has a shot at getting the France national team job after this year.
