One of the more notable debates in world football over the past couple of years has centered on just who between Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona was better during their prime days.
In speaking to ESPN Argentina, longtime Argentina national team forward Carlos Tevez was asked to pick between the two La Albiceleste icons. For Tevez, he swayed away from choosing either of the two but rather opted to instead spend some time to laud them.
“Both,” Tevez said. “They are both Argentine. At times, we fight about it more than the people from outside of the country. The argument has always been made by us. We have to enjoy it.”
Both Messi and Maradona are well renowned as two of the greatest playmakers to ever play the sport.
