Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi got a few minutes in the capital club’s match against Stade de Reims before the FIFA international break. The 34-year-old did provide an assist as he got back into match fitness following his bout with Covid-19.
Ahead of the French giants’ Coupe de France against OGC Nice, manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media where he discussed Messi getting back into the starting eleven and his improving chemistry with Kylian Mbappé.
“We are very happy with what Leo has done in training this week. He trained well. In the last match, he played 30 minutes,” Pochettino said.
“He is in good condition to start. For Kylian, it’s a question of complicity. Their connection begins to show. They are two very great footballers.”
