With a few days remaining until the January transfer window closes, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain remain in talks over the possible transfer of midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
However, much like the capital club wants to offload a player to make room and balance the wage bill, the Premier League club also wants to make a move before bidding Ndombele farewell.
According to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham is evaluating alternatives to replace Ndombele if he joins PSG on loan. Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is one of the players on the list that the north London club will go after.
Furthermore, Romano also put some cold water on the rumor regarding the Ligue 1 side possibly offering midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, who has been linked to a possible return to the Premier League since he’s not an undisputed starter.
There are some hurdles for a Ndombele deal to get done, so these next few hours will be crucial as both these clubs look to make a deal before solidifying a loan agreement for the 25-year-old.
