Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly out on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele. The inability to offload a player or two to make room for the 25-year-old has the capital club out of the running.
Nonetheless, there are a few hours left until the January transfer window closes on Monday, and French football journalist Karim Bennani hopes PSG can pull a rabbit out of a hat and land Ndombele.
Bennani states that the capital club needs the France international for their upcoming UEFA Champions League Round of 16 matchup against Real Madrid because he brings qualities that no one on the squad possesses at the moment.
“PSG needs Ndombele right away. I think Paris needs to strengthen in the middle with a player capable of creating differences with the ball. A player capable of being that box to box player that PSG needs, especially to raise the level of play in the Champions League,” Bennani said on La Chaîne L’Equipe (via Paris Fans)
“Why not also have control of the game against Real Madrid. I think against Real Madrid; you have to have control in midfield. You must not have the tempo dictated to you.”
The first leg will occur in less than three weeks at the Parc des Princes. So these next few hours will tell whether they can have someone like Ndombele in their squad or whether PSG has to go with their current team to try and advance past Los Blancos.
