Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino sees that the ongoing campaign for the Ligue 1 side has been a “challenge.”
In speaking to PSG TV, Pochettino touched on PSG’s performances so far in the season, where the Argentine manager noted that he sees optimism with the team’s overall showings.
“I think that this season is one big challenge,” Pochettino said. “There’s been a lot of excitement, and I think that some very important things have been done.
“We have a great team, and what a great challenge it is to make sure that everything is working within the team and that, in the key moments of the season, those talents rise to the surface and give us the results that we’re looking for and that a team like Paris Saint-Germain deserves.”
PSG has had its fair share of ups and downs over the campaign, which include its current first place standing in the Ligue 1 standings, but it did finish behind Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League Group A.
In the big picture, Pochettino is much looking forward to what the remainder of the campaign will bring to PSG.
“As I always say, we’re all in a state of total uncertainty,” Pochettino said. “We’re living in difficult times with this virus, where we have a different case every day. We don’t know whether, tomorrow, we’ll be able to train with 20, 15 or 25 players, and we have to adapt on a daily basis.
“So, naturally, I’m hoping for the best. I hope that we can improve in every area, and I think that the aim is always to win and to come out on top in everything that we’re involved in.”
Overall, PSG heads into the rest of the season with plenty of expectations, as it is being tabbed to not only win a domestic double but to also go on and win the Champions League competition.
It will be noteworthy to see on just how PSG will finish in all competitions this season.
