The January transfer window is open, and clubs have the opportunity to improve their squad for the remaining six months of the 2021-22 season. For Real Madrid, it presents the chance to talk to Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé.
According to well-known Italian agent Giovanni Branchini (via Foot Mercato), the Spanish club plans to again make an offer to the capital club to land the 23-year-old right now and not wait until the summer.
In a column for La Gazzetta dello Sport, the agent states that Los Blancos are willing to offer €50 million to take the France international this month. Real Madrid made similar attempts for more significant sums this past summer, but PSG declined the offers.
Nonetheless, with their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 matchup on the horizon, it doesn’t seem logical to sell him at this point, especially with the goal being to win the competition.
Furthermore, Mbappé has stated he won’t discuss his future until after the two-leg tie. Perhaps this is Real Madrid’s ego coming into play that they can grab any player whenever they want or hoping to make peace with PSG and pay a sum for a player the La Liga side can attempt to get for free.
Nonetheless, these rumors will persist until Mbappé announces his decision.
