Video: ‘We Made a Lot of Mistakes’ – Mauricio Pochettino Discusses the Draw Against Lens

There’s plenty of criticism coming down on Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino after the squad has put together three straight disappointing performances.

After the match, Pochettino spoke to Canal Plus, where he provided his thoughts on the game and whether he’s upset with how his squad has been performing over the past couple of fixtures.

“Coming here today after playing on Saturday (last) and Wednesday, with the intensity we have played at, it’s still difficult. We must first of all give credit to Lens. They played very well, and I love this team. They played really well; they were so physical, so athletic. But of course, given the intensity with which the match was played, it is sometimes difficult,” Pochettino said.

“But how to say? We made a lot of mistakes; in particular, we lost a lot of balls in the construction. But I think that in our desire to get the ball back as soon as we lost it, the team gave the maximum even though it was not one of our best nights. We have to congratulate the players, but we know very well that we have to do better.”

With the holiday break approaching, there are calls from supporters for PSG to sack Pochettino. Still, it will be interesting to see if the Argentine tactician can turn the situation around or see his squad regress.
