Video: ‘We Know We Can Still Improve’ – Mauricio Pochettino Discusses PSG’s Victory Over Club Brugge

The match that Paris Saint-Germain played against Club Brugge is one that manager Mauricio Pochettino needed to get out of their current form. Nonetheless, the Argentine tactician hopes this is the start of a run that sees his squad progress heading into 2022.

After the victory, Pochettino spoke with Canal Plus, where the 49-year-old provided his thoughts on his squad’s performance against the Belgium side.

“I think it was a very good game. We started the game very well. There was a great connection on the pitch between the players. We played well on some sequences,” Pochettino said. “We deserved this kind of service. I really liked how we played football in this great atmosphere. The players had to feel free. With the talent that we have in the team, you have to have fun.”

“We always work hard; we always try to create a bond between the players. It’s just a matter of time for this link to appear. Of course, we qualified, but the responsibility was to show a little more. But I’m happy; I’m happy with the performance. Happy for my players who deserve this. It is a good step forward. We know we can still improve. It is not yet incredible, but this small step that we have taken is important.”

With three more matches left this year, and rumors of Zinedine Zidane, Pochettino wants to give confidence to management and supporters he’s the right man for the job.
