After some technical issues on UEFA’s part, which initially had Paris Saint-Germain facing Manchester United in the Round of 16, the capital club will be opening the knockout stages against Real Madrid.
Meaning, if healthy for both legs, Sergio Ramos will be returning to face a club where he served as captain and spent 16 years of his career.
With the 35-year-old possibly heading to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, some expect a standing ovation and cheers; nonetheless, RMC Sport pundit Fred Hermel isn’t too sure that will happen as he stated during his appearance on “Rothen s’enflamme.”
“I think [Ramos] fears [the reception of the public] because his departure did not go well. When we leave Real, and we do not start well, we pay the bill in a way or of another,” Hermel said. “It would be a huge injury for him.”
