Paris Saint-Germain prepares for their final match of the 2021 calendar year when they head to the Stade du Moustoir-Yves Allainmat and face FC Lorient. Les Merlus are 19th in the Ligue 1 table and fighting possible relegation.
The capital club will travel to the north-western region of France with Kylian Mbappé, suspended for the match, and Neymar Jr., who continues rehabbing his ankle injury.
Ahead of the matchup, manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media at his press conference, where he discussed playing a match without his two star players.
“Marco Verratti is also suspended… In any case, we never speak of ‘replacing,’ but always to find the right balance for the team, one that will allow us to free a good performance and get closer to victory,” Pochettino said.
“These kinds of situations happen all the time. Whether it’s due to injuries or suspensions, we’ll always have players going missing or unavailable. What is clear is that we have the right players to strike that balance and aim for victory.”
