Paris Saint-Germain’s Round of 64 opponent in the Coupe de France is SC Feignies, a French club in the fifth division; the capital club will be the heavy favorites heading into the matchup.
Despite their opponent, manager Mauricio Pochettino cautions his team to treat them with respect as it’s not unheard of to see a club from a lower division upset a squad from the first level.
“We see in the cup [matches], there is a risk if you underestimate your opponent. We have to show total respect for our opponent Feignies-Aulnoye. There are a lot of surprises in France, but also in Spain and England. It is the magic of competition, and the matches are sometimes complicated,” Pochettino said during his press conference.
This Coupe de France matchup will be the second to last match of 2021, with PSG’s final game this calendar year coming on Wednesday.
