One of the top youth players in the Paris Saint-Germain Academy is Xavi Simons. The midfielder has put together season the under levels, but with his contract expiring in June, some want to see him on the first team to let him know he’s a significant part of their future.
However, the 18-year-old has yet to see much time on the pitch with the first team despite PSG missing midfielders due to injury. As a result, there’s plenty of rumors regarding his possible departure.
The latest club expressing interest in Simons is Scottish giants Rangers FC. Spanish media outlet AS reports Rangers would have recently approached the midfielder’s agent, Mino Raiola, about the teenager’s interest in heading to Scotland.
Furthermore, the report adds that with manager Gio Van Bronckhorst wanting Simons as soon as possible, Rangers is willing to make an offer to PSG for him during the January window despite his contract expiring.
Rangers isn’t the only club expressing interest in the Netherlands international as Barcelona is also in the mix for Simons.
