Report: PSG Negotiating for Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger

Paris Saint-Germain’s center-back depth has Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe, Sergio Ramos, Thilo Kehrer, and Abdou Diallo. However, Diallo and Kehrer could depart as the capital club tries to trim its wages.

Furthermore, Ramos’ injury raises questions about whether the 35-year-old can stay healthy enough to play consistently. Then there’s the inconsistency from Kimpembe.

As a result, there are plenty of question marks behind Marquinhos, which is why Les Parisiens are in talks to land Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger. According to German football journalist Christian Falk, PSG sporting director Leonardo would have recently met with Sahr Cenesie, brother and agent of Rudiger.

PSG is in negotiations with the player, but no decision yet on his future as Real Madrid is another club eyeing the Germany international. The 28-year-old’s contract expires in June, so he can negotiate a pre-contract in a couple of weeks for a deal that kicks in next season.

Rudiger has made 21 appearances for the Premier League club this season. WhoScored labeled the strengths of the Chelsea defender, which are his passing, tackling, and concentration, to give an idea of what kind of player PSG hopes to sign.
