Ramos Opens Up on What It Has Been Like to be Teammates With Messi at PSG

After years of being rivals during their respective runs at Barcelona and Real Madrid, Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos both opted to join Paris Saint-Germain as free transfers during the summer.

Ramos and Messi have only shared the pitch for a mere one match so far this season, which came in PSG’s Ligue 1 away win over AS Saint-Etienne. The veteran Spanish defender has been ruled out for much of the season so far due to calf and muscle injuries.

Still, Ramos has so far much enjoyed being teammates with the longtime Barca star at PSG, which he touched on during a press conference for his new gym in Madrid, Spain.

“Now we share a dressing room, and we have a very good relationship,” Ramos said. “We are trying to help PSG win. The objective is the Champions League and both Messi and I will be able to contribute something. The relationship is one of admiration and respect on both sides.”

Ramos has been out of action as of late due to muscle fatigue, but he could make his return to PSG’s starting lineup in the upcoming Coupe de France knockout stage fixture against Feignies.
