Pundit Provides Thoughts on Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos’ First Few Months With PSG

It’s been a journey for Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, who departed the biggest clubs in Spain to join Paris Saint-Germain over the summer.

The Argentine left FC Barcelona, the only club he’s ever known while playing in Europe; meanwhile, Ramos left Real Madrid, where he spent 16 years and captained the squad.

Now heading into the holiday break, French football pundit Emmanuel Petit spoke about the two notable additions and their season thus far during an appearance on RMC Sport (via Canal Supporters).

“Must wait. I think the best is yet to come for Lionel Messi. We’ll talk about that in six months. I am more disappointed and frustrated with Sergio Ramos than Lionel Messi,” Petit said.

“Yes, its integration difficulty can also be linked to the tactical aspect. His remoteness on the ground, having been, at one point, isolated on the right side. But, on the other hand, there are a lot of players at PSG who are far from their level. So, it is necessarily linked.”

Heading into 2022, Les Parisiens will need both of these players if they hope to bypass Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Both players have had their moments playing at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

As a result, the moment won’t be too big for them playing against Los Blancos. Despite their first few months being sporadic for both players, all that matters is the remainder of the season as PSG hopes to win the Champions League.
