PSG Mercato: Juventus Wants Mauro Icardi to Replace the Outgoing Alvaro Morata

Paris Saint-Germain has begun their exodus of players who have no future this week, with Rafinha heading to Real Sociedad on a loan deal. Other players still need to exit with the January transfer window hours away from opening.

One player that could be on his way out is Mauro Icardi. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Canal Supporters), Alvaro Morata already agreed to join FC Barcelona; however, the move can only go through if Juventus replaces him with another striker.

The Italian media outlet adds that the two candidates to replace Morata would be Icardi and former PSG striker Edinson Cavani, who’s with Manchester United.

When it comes to Icardi, Les Parisiens would like to secure a permanent transfer with their price being €30-million for the Argentine forward. The 28-year-old originally came to replace Edinson Cavani, but Kylian Mbappé is now the striker, so he’s seeing limited time out on the pitch.

After some off-the-pitch issues, it seems as though it will be best for both parties involved to part ways.
