PSG Mercato: Italian Media Outlet Says Paris SG the Favroite to Land Manchester United Midfielder

Paris Saint-Germain wants a world-class midfielder as the capital club hopes to lessen its dependence on Marco Verratti. Despite the Italy international’s talent, suspension or injury prevents the 28-year-old from being out on the pitch when they need him.

A PSG with Verratti is way different than when he’s out of the lineup. As a result, the Ligue 1 side is searching for a world-class midfielder, which is why they’ve been linked to Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

Les Parisiens are the only club interested in Pogba, whose contract expires in June, but Gazzetta dello Sport (via Canal Supporters) reports the PSG are the favorites to land the 28-year-old. The France international is seeking that last big contract as he enters the later stages of his prime years.

The Italian media outlet states that Juventus wouldn’t be able to meet the financial demands that Pogba and his agent, Mino Raiola, are seeking. As a result, the French giants could look to bring the midfielder home. Should PSG land him, it will be interesting to see how it affects the decision of Kylian Mbappé.

Over the coming weeks, PSG could engage in talks with Pogba and his representatives since he can agree to a pre-contract during the January window that kicks in next season.
