After being sidelined due to muscle fatigue, Sergio Ramos made his return to action in Paris Saint-Germain’s Coupe de France knockout stage fixture against Feignies.
Ramos’ appearance in the match was cut short at halftime, as Pochettino opted to sub off the veteran Spanish defender ahead of the second half. In Ramos’ place, Colin Dagba went on to finish the contest.
Although there were some early concerns over a possible injury setback for Ramos, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino downplayed such talk following the match (via Le Parisien) by noting that the plan was always to remove him from the fixture at halftime.
“We had planned for that in his recovery process, we had decided that he would come out at halftime,” Pochettino said.
Ramos has now featured in two matches in all competitions so far in the campaign.
It will be noteworthy to see whether the Spanish international may go on to feature in PSG’s upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against Lorient.
Excellent play from the back and created scoring opportunities. Class player.
