Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has rotated between Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Donnarumma for the team’s starting goalkeeper role so far this season.
Pochettino once again did just that in PSG’s key Ligue 1 home fixture against AS Monaco, as Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma earned a start in the match. He wound up recording three saves.
After the key 2-0 win for PSG, Pochettino discussed (via L’Equipe) the team’s current goalkeeper situation, as he noted that he still has full confidence in both Navas and Donnarumma at this point in the campaign.
“There were situations, Keylor (Navas) was sent off, so he missed matches,” Pochettino said. “But we maintain our confidence in the two goalkeepers.”
Overall, Donnarumma has featured in 11 matches in all competitions over the ongoing campaign, which include the notable clean sheet performance in PSG’s 2-0 home win over Manchester City in UEFA Champions League group stage play.
At the least, Pochettino sure does have two goalkeepers who he can rely on in crucial matches over the remainder of the campaign.
