Paris Saint-Germain wrapped up their 2021 calendar year with a sour 1-1 draw against FC Lorient.
With the capital club’s next game not until January 3rd for the French Cup Round of 32 matchup Vannes OC, the players have some time off to enjoy the holidays with their family before returning to the Camp des Lodges to resume training for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
Some players will likely remain in the French capital, while others will be heading to their home country. Mundo Deportivo reports that the Argentines on PSG, Lionel Messi, Ángel Di María, Mauro Icardi and Leandro Paredes, all left for Argentina.
The four players all boarded a private jet that landed in the city of Rosario, the hometown of Messi, Di María, and Icardi. The group will spend a few days in Argentina and then board the plane back to the French capital.
PSG will resume training on January 1st, with those who have traveled to South America needing to report the following day. However, as COVID-19 cases surge, affecting leagues like the Premier League, RMC Sport details that the French giants want those traveling abroad to do so with caution.
