Video: ‘The Goal Is Qualification’ – Mauricio Pochettino Comments on Losing First Place in Group A to Manchester City

Paris Saint-Germain is licking their wounds following a disappointing draw against RB Leipzig. The capital club was minutes away from walking with all three points before Presnel Kimpembe committed a foul inside the box leading to the German club converting on the penalty kick opportunity.

With PSG’s draw and Manchester City’s victory over Club Brugge, the Premier League side leaped over the French giants, taking the lead in Group A with nine points.

At his press conference with the media, manager Mauricio Pochettino stated that despite the result against Leipzig, the objective is to qualify for the knockout stages, which they’re in control of that destiny.

“The goal is qualification. If we can be first, it’s better. We will seek to obtain the qualification there and, if possible, in 1st place. We are now 2nd after having been 1st. But the goal remains the same. We have to go there to get a result and qualify for the round of 16,” Pochettino said.
