Lionel Messi featured as a second half substitute in Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against Uruguay last week. There were questions as to whether he would take part in the match due to both his notable knee and hamstring injuries, but Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni still opted to feature him in the fixture.
Now, Scaloni plans to play Messi in Argentina’s upcoming showdown with Brazil tomorrow, as he noted during his pre-match press conference on Monday (via TyC Sports).
“The other day he was already feeling good physically and we decided in the end that the best thing was for him to play a few minutes, so he could get a good feeling,” Scaloni said. “It is confirmed that he will play tomorrow. Let’s hope he feels good.
