Neymar Jr. missed the Brazil national team’s rivalry matchup against Argentina due to a muscle injury. The 29-year-old returned to Paris, and with the upcoming Ligue 1 match against FC Nantes, there’s a possibility that the Brazil international could miss the matchup.
Seeing little time against Nantes this weekend could affect Neymar’s chances of playing in the UEFA Champions League matchup against Manchester City.
Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino provided an update on Neymar’s status during his press conference with the media.
“Some players are not registered on the medical check-up, but you have to see their state of form,” Pochettino said.
“We have a meeting with the medical sector [Friday] afternoon to see if some players can be in the squad tomorrow. Can he play against Nantes? He trained well with the group today. We’ll see, I’m not 100% sure, but I think he can be part of the group tomorrow.”
