Sergio Ramos arrived at Paris Saint-Germain to fill that veteran defender role that the capital club missed following the departure of Thiago Silva in 2020. However, the former Real Madrid captain came with an injury history and has yet to debut for the French giants.
However, it seems as though the 35-year-old is close to returning, at least that’s what his former Real Madrid teammate Dani Carvajal stated during his interview with Marca.
The Real Madrid defender states that Ramos confided in him his progress as he hopes to return from a calf injury that has plagued the veteran for the past few months.
“We recently spoke. [Ramos] told me that he was close to the final stretch to get back. I think that after the break he will be there. Let’s see if he’s lucky, and we’ll enjoy his football again,” Carvajal said.
Presnel Kimpembe has failed to impress these last few weeks, the highlight of his lousy form being the penalty committed in stoppage time against RB Leipzig. It allowed the German club to convert their penalty kick opportunity and tie the game, preventing PSG from taking all three points.
As a result, PSG needs Ramos should Kimpembe continue on this downward trajectory with his form.
