Report: Verratti an Early Doubt for PSG’s Away Champions League Group Stage Fixture Against Manchester City

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has been sidelined for the past couple of weeks due to a left hip injury suffered during the team’s Ligue 1 fixture against Olympique de Marseille.

PSG initially provided a four-week timeline for when Verratti will be available to make his return to in-game action. The club later noted that he is expected to feature in training following the November international break.

For now, there is notable doubt on whether the Italian midfielder will be fully fit in time for PSG’s UEFA Champions League away group stage fixture against Manchester City.

As noted by Canal+ (via Le10Sport), the Italian talent is currently not on track to feature for PSG in the critical Champions League clash with the reigning Premier League champions on Nov. 24.

It will be noteworthy to see on how Verratti progresses in the coming weeks from his injury.

In the big picture, the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum and Ander Herrera may be called upon to lead PSG’s midfield unit against Manchester City should Verratti be ruled out for the fixture.
