Report: Spanish, German Clubs Eyeing Xavi Simons Situation With PSG

Over the past few seasons, Paris Saint-Germain has seen the departure of talented youth players in search of more playing time elsewhere, and it seems as though they’re on the verge of losing another one.

According to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Xavi Simons and his agent are considering leaving the capital club in June when his contract expires. The report further details that Spanish and German clubs are eyeing the 18-year-old midfielder but don’t give specific teams.

“Xavi Simons will seriously consider leaving PSG in June as a free player, but it is not yet 100% decided. Spanish and German clubs follow him,” Romano wrote.

Nonetheless, one of the Spanish clubs that’s eyeing the midfielder is FC Barcelona. The other day Cadena Ser (via Canal Supporters) reported that the Catalan side wants to bring back their youth player who left La Masia in 2019 for the French capital.

It will be interesting to see how this entire saga plays out as there’s loud support to see talented youth players over veterans who don’t have a place long-term with Les Parisiens.
